Petainer Kegs, bottles and containers

Kegs

Our major large container product is a family of innovative, recyclable ‘one way’ PET kegs and fittings for beer, wine and other beverages.

We have formed a partnership with KHS GMbH in Germany – an international manufacturer of filling, handling and packaging systems – to market these kegs.

The PetainerKeg family offers a significant breakthrough in the sales and marketing of volume beer, wine and other beverages. It opens up new sales channels and markets and provides a step change in environmental performance – as well as reducing costs and improving cash flow.

PetainerKegs are lightweight beverage containers manufactured in recyclable PET (Polyethyleneterephthalate) and designed for one-way use.

They are currently available in sizes of 15, 20 and 30 litres to suit a wide range of applications. The 20 and 30 litre kegs are also available in a version that is specifically designed for use in conventional filling lines for metal kegs (PetainerKeg USD).

All the kegs offer economic and environmental benefits when compared with metal kegs and other plastic variants. The benefits increase with the size of the keg – the larger the content, the larger the savings.

The variety of sizes and the associated range of fittings mean that there is a suitable keg for a variety of beverage application in bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants worldwide. In addition to beer, PetainerKegs are suitable for a range of beverages including cider, wine, water, concentrates and low pressure carbonated soft drinks up to 5,5 g/l CO2.

PetainerKegs can be supplied in an outer cardboard box to further improve the ease of handling and to provide opportunities for product branding.

All the kegs are available with one-way, low cost fittings which allow them to be connected to existing tapping systems for draught beer.

PetainerKegs offer substantial marketing and cost benefits when compared with other types of keg and also give real benefits to end users.

Unlike other plastic and metal kegs, PetainerKegs can be supplied either complete and ready for filling or as ‘preform kits’ that can be blown on the point of use. This second option provides further environmental and economic benefits.

The version adapted for conventional filling lines offers brewers the opportunity to gain all the advantages of the PetainerKeg without needing to invest in new filling systems. These kegs are supplied in rigid Polypropylene casings which facilitate use on steel keg filling lines. The casings also make the kegs easy to handle in transport and by users in bars, clubs and restaurants.

Like the PetainerKegs themselves, the casings are designed for one-way use and are fully recyclable. They can be printed to users’ specifications to create new opportunities for branding.

More information on PetainerKegs can be found in this brochure.
